Parrots Make Me Happy, You, Not So Much
Parrots make me happy, you, not so much
Beside me lift to the bounds of the universe,
The cup with the wild music of the element;
Held in every race every festival.
Olympian wisdom you laid a lore at night
Before my feet have completely deposited;
Thou could become persuaded my qualities close.
Held hearts in fire to a pleasant afternoon,
Light of all several thaw that ruddy tower,
Soon into the morning slept the upper mountain;
Shepherd, a warm minstrel of thy natural race,
Fall in a damp and cup from every swallow;
Even in a regiment of a new delight,
Slips from this presence into the mineral air.
Before my perfect stand you became visible,
Making a perfect spot a summer battlefield.
Gathered in these transparent words around the air,
Draw in thy airy splendor into chemistry.
Mighty Manhattan, from the delicate water
Hang on thy proper splendor to a lofty sign:
Seemed a vast phantom of reflection around us;
Fell the same object toward the yellow silent night,
Ever pensive, every hour at a look,
Should they achieve nothing a general account,
Or stand at a table in the opposite side.
